About you:

As a BI developer, you will work as part of a squad of data engineers and BI developers, you will have the opportunity to lead and work on a variety of projects which are strategically designed to continuously improve, change, and accelerate the way we do things across our 150+ Engineering teams allowing us to scale and be a world class Engineering Function. Day-to-day, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Research and analyse raw data for the purpose of identifying key insights that can be derived from the data (typically via proof-of-concept analysis or mock-ups)
  2. Identify issues with the source data and where possible outline steps to work around or mitigate them.
  3. Develop and maintain robust, effective and optimised data models, that support flexible analysis.
  4. Produce specs for data engineers to use as the basis for pipeline destinations so that model-ready data exists in the data lake.
  5. Build dynamic, visually engaging, reports/dashboards in-line with the user stories (typically using agile methodology) with a high degree of user experience (UX)

As a BI Developer, your Skills and Experiences likely include:

  1. Experience with Microsoft Power BI, ideally with 1-3 years in either an enterprise or product environment.
  2. Demonstrable experience of working on Power BI reports/apps through ALM cycles.
  3. Must be able to produce engaging BI displays that effectively communicate key insights to end users, providing a rich user experience.
  4. Desirable to have some experience with developing custom visuals using Deneb/Vega Lite.
  5. An understanding of how to transform complex relational databases into Kimball/Star Schema models.
  6. Proficiency with DAX and able to write measures in-line with best-practice standards.
  7. Working knowledge of M language and desirable to have experience in pushing transformations written in M upstream into the lakehouse.
  8. Willingness to learn and adapt to team standards/approaches.
