As the Technical Superintendent, you will be responsible for providing essential technical support to assigned vessels, ensuring their reliable and efficient operation. You will be directly accountable for compliance with HSQEE n policies, and international and national regulations, as well as the maintenance, operational performance, and reliability of all equipment and machinery on the vessels. Your role includes budget planning, controlling operating expenses, and addressing maintenance-related nonconformities. Key performance indicators (KPIs) include monitoring LTIF, TRCF, off-hire due to technical reasons, vessel budget against fleet averages, and environmental and energy management.

Tasks encompass long-term maintenance planning, overseeing refits, maintenance, repairs, dry-docking, conversions, and modifications. Financial duties involve monitoring and managing operating costs, presenting annual budgets, and seeking approval for unbudgeted expenditures. Verification and validation responsibilities include monitoring vessel stocking levels, addressing guarantee claims, and analysing performance trends. You conduct technical inspections and visits, provide feedback to the new building team, and review nonstandard job risk assessments.

Documentation and routine tasks involve assisting with claims related to Hull & Machinery, managing activities related to classification bodies, flag states, and surveys, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards on board. You also play a crucial role in procurement, approving orders for stores, spares, repairs, and surveys, while guiding the vessel purchaser and technical assistant. Additionally, you contribute to human resources by assisting in the selection of engineer officers, conducting senior officer performance appraisals, mentoring staff, and facilitating briefings.

Requirements:

  • Min 2 years experience in a senior management position on board or 1-year experience in a similar rank in a shore-based position
