Join us as Project Lead Engineer for the Process Automation Business Area where you will be technically leading all engineering activities in assignments classified as medium to high engineering complexity. Ensuring that activities related to all engineering disciplines within the project are efficiently and cost-effectively executed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements.

Reporting to the Evolution Engineering Manager and this position will be based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.

Your responsibilities
  • Leading all Engineering disciplines - evaluating, selecting, and applying standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform task or sequence of tasks, for brown field/green field projects with few complex features
  • Collaborating on project installation, commissioning, and site activities, clarifying potential issues, or providing solutions to correct engineering errors. Providing technical support to commissioning and start-up activities. Interacting with customers, contractors, suppliers. Attending project meetings and presenting all technical aspects of project assignments
  • Finalizing 'Fail-Safe Philosophy' and other key concepts as part of Kick-Off and Design Freeze Meetings. Actively participates project meetings and resolves any outstanding technical issues to meet contractual obligations
  • Assisting in creating proposals for projects through coordination of proposal documents and engineering estimates. Leading, supervising and coordinating teams in all engineering disciplines (both in-house and outsourced) on medium to high complexity projects
  • Utilizes standard processes, tools, and techniques. Ensuring that engineering activities comply with required safety regulations and contractual requirements
  • Evaluating risks and opportunities, strategizes mitigation of one's engineering projects/programs. Supporting the Project Manager in overall project risk and opportunity assessments and implementation of resulting actions
  • Reviewing all project documents for conformity, safety, and quality assurance. Negotiating claims and engineering changes. Supporting Project Manager/Contract Manager in issuing claims (new scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications, etc.)
  • Overseeing the creation of subcontracts and manages the subcontractors jointly with other involved disciplines, including supply chain management
Your background
  • Bachelor's degree Automation, Instrumentation, Electrical with minimum 5 years of experience in the similar field
  • Project Lead experience with good competency to work on ABB Automation products Bailey INFI90/S+, 800XA
  • Knowledge of Safety System & Third party protocol communication (mandatory), Cyber Security, IT/IS/OT system is preferable
