Process Safety Engineer

A Snapshot of Your Day
Develop process engineering fundamentals and pressure relief analysis know-how through hands-on experience with various client projects.
How You'll Make an Impact
Job scopes include but are not limited to:
- Perform process data entry and verification.
- Develop system sketches or relief process flow diagrams.
- Perform pressure relief analysis in accordance with international standards such as ASME Sec VIIII, API STD 520 & 521, or other best practices and guidelines.
- Perform relief load calculation and relief valve sizing.
- Perform relief simulation for towers, distillation columns, etc., using process simulator to calculate the relief load.
- Develop flare network model based on piping isometric.
- Perform hydraulic analysis for flare network using hydraulic simulator.
- Generate findings list and provide mitigation options.
- Prepare study report for submission to the client.
- Lead the execution of a project in the capacity of both technical lead and project manager.
- Support Sales Manager by providing input to proposals, technical and marketing presentations.
- Provide knowledge transfer trainings or trainings related to software to clients.
What You Bring
- Degree in Chemical Engineering from a recognized university.
- 5 - 7 years of relevant process engineering design and process safety (pressure relief) experience in the petrochemical/chemical/refinery industry.
- Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Positive learning attitude.
- Ability to multi-task, manage multiple interfaces, and prioritize work.
- Knowledge of process modeling software (Pro II, Aspen HYSYS, etc.) and experience in the use of relevant technical computing tools and design tools for hydraulic calculations would be preferred.
- Good knowledge of industry standards and practices related to process design and safety.
