Job Scope

  • Lead the Group Health team in achieving the targeted TAT and accuracy level.
  • Guide the Group Health team in ensuring daily operations are within service standards.
  • Support business units to achieve the target GWP.
  • Operate within the target loss ratio set by the company.
  • Review and approve pricing done by the underwriters for new business, renewals, and Maxis GBN business.
  • Provide sales support to Business Units through managing product launches, marketing activities, and marketing materials.
  • Manage and implement new projects for Group Health.

Reports to VP, Group Health UW

Main Responsibilities

  • Perform business underwriting for new and existing (renewal) business.
  • Assist in product/Policy training to corporate clients, agents, and brokers in HQ and branches nationwide as required.
  • Manage portfolio risk to ensure profitable portfolio growth.
  • Visit corporate clients, brokers, and agencies when necessary.
  • Ensure policies/endorsements are delivered within stipulated time.
  • Monitor and manage Claim Recovery for GHS accounts closely.
  • Assist in managing resources to achieve an optimum level of customer service through efficient team management.
  • Product and system development/enhancement - work closely with all concerned parties.
  • Assist in process improvements with relevant parties such as Claims, TPA, Actuarial, and Business Units.
  • Liaise on underwriting matters or hospital admissions with Third-Party Administrator (TPA).
  • Assist the Group Health team in implementing and monitoring sales campaigns.
  • Handle special projects or assignments like BCP exercises, organizing company events, etc.

Qualification and Experience Requirement

Education:

  • University/College graduate with 4 years related working experience in the insurance industry.
  • Actuarial or Statistical background or Group Business Underwriting experience preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in a similar role/capacity, preferably with Group Business Underwriting experience.
  • Experience in team management.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Poses a sense of commitment to meet targets.
  • Customer-oriented with excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Detailed and meticulous with good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • IT literate with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
