We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fraud Associate to join our dynamic team and contribute to our ongoing efforts in fraud prevention.

As an AML Transaction Monitoring Senior Associate, you will play a critical role in identifying and investigating potential instances of money laundering and other illicit activities within the organization's financial transactions. You will be responsible for monitoring, analysing, and reporting suspicious transactions in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily reviews of transaction monitoring alerts to identify potential money laundering, terrorist financing, and other suspicious activity.
  • Perform detailed investigations using internal systems, customer profiles, and open-source intelligence.
  • Escalate cases that meet the threshold for Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and support the drafting and filing process with relevant authorities.
  • Ensure alerts and investigations are completed within established SLAs and regulatory timelines.
  • Assist in the tuning and enhancement of transaction monitoring systems, rules, and scenarios.
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, and Operations teams to address AML-related issues.
  • Keep up to date with regulatory changes and typologies to ensure the monitoring program remains effective.
  • Mentor junior analysts and support their development.
  • Prepare regular reports and metrics on alert volume, escalation rates, and other KPIs for management. Prepare detailed reports on findings and escalate cases as necessary to the appropriate authorities or senior management.
  • Stay updated on AML laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and contribute to the development and improvement of transaction monitoring processes and procedures.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of AML training programs for employees to enhance awareness and understanding of money laundering risks and prevention measures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CAMS - Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) are a plus.
  • Prior experience working in AML transaction monitoring, financial crimes investigations, or a similar role within the financial industry.
  • Strong knowledge of AML laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Familiarity with transaction monitoring systems, software, and tools.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Proficient in using MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data analysis tools.
  • Effective communication and report writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
