Responsibilities
  • Ensures the efficient and smooth operation of the Food and Beverage Department providing services and support to other departments as required.
  • Handles guest and employee enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, reporting complaints or problems if no immediate solution can be found, whilst feeding back a prompt follow up.
  • Is knowledgeable in statutory legislation in employee and industrial relations, understanding and strictly adhering to rules and regulations established in the Employee handbook and the hotel's policies concerning fire, hygiene and health and safety.
  • Ensures high standards of personal presentation and grooming.
  • Maintains positive guest and colleague interactions with good working relationships.
  • Exercises responsible management and behavior at all times and positively represents the hotel management team.
  • Responds to requests to undertake any reasonable tasks and secondary duties and to changes as dictated by the hotel, industry and company.
  • Is accountable for the efficient operation of the Hotel's food and beverage outlets to ensure a high standard of guest satisfaction whilst operating to the established Budgets and ensures quality of food and service comply with established standards.
  • Operates the department within the budget and reports on daily sales.
  • Submits monthly financial and operational reports with analysis and comments as required.
  • Develops and prepares forecasts for all operating revenue and expenses.
  • Follows up and maintains food cost control methods and procedures.
  • Inspects various F & B outlets, including the kitchen. Provides direction to key subordinates or resolves problems referred.
