Job Summary
Under the guidance of a manager and in alignment with company policies and procedures, the role involves executing, developing, coordinating, and communicating procurement activities and services. These activities may vary in complexity (medium to large scale), to be carried out within agreed service levels and with minimal delays to meet customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 3-4 procurement specialists located globally, ensuring alignment on processes, performance, and continuous improvement. Perform and coordinate procurement activities in an accurate and timely manner, such as defining requests for proposals, leading/participating in negotiations with vendors, writing contracts, processing purchase orders, and monitoring service level agreements.
- Identify/define/investigate and resolve delivery & invoicing and other related procurement problems, providing guidance to the team where needed.
- Inform customers on progress, achievements, escalated problems, and complex issues related to procurement requests, while ensuring the team delivers a high standard of service.
- Deliver and implement medium to large projects in own area, with responsibility for team coordination. Projects may involve input from other specialists from own or other divisions.
- Maintain and optimize customer contacts to keep an in-depth understanding of their needs and ensure the team effectively communicates relevant information.
- Apply procurement knowledge, liaise with experts and managers for guidance, and support team development in procurement best practices.
- Maintain relationships with existing vendors to keep abreast of new products/services, with a focus on technology and software procurement where relevant.
- Increase knowledge and experience of procurement techniques and the market of vendors/products & services, particularly in the technology and software domain, and share insights with more junior procurement specialists.
- Recommend improvements to the service level, ensuring best practices and efficiency across the team.
What You Will Need
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A recognized buyer certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, ideally within multinational companies (MNCs).
- Proven experience in leading and managing teams.
- Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage time effectively.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Knowledge of SAP and other procurement systems is a plus.
