Welcome to Digital Workplace IPL
You'll be part of the Virtual Apps & Desktops team where you, together with your colleagues, will be involved with the Digital Workplace IPL, comprising nine product teams supporting various endpoint, office, and collaborative solution technologies to ensure that key deliveries and decisions are met and executed in a timely manner. As a team, we cooperate daily with diverse, ambitious, and driven global colleagues and various IT stakeholders to design, implement, and manage the organization's VDI environment to ensure high availability, scalability, and optimal performance.

You'll play an important role in:

1. VDI Architecture and Design: Designing, implementing, and managing scalable and efficient VDI environments based on business needs. Collaborating with architects, network engineers, and security teams to integrate VDI solutions with existing infrastructure.
2. VDI Deployment and Management: Deploying, configuring, and maintaining VDI environments including virtual desktops, applications, and data. Implementing and managing both persistent and non-persistent desktop models.
3. Performance Optimization: Monitoring VDI system performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements to enhance overall performance. Conducting regular health checks, system monitoring, and proactive troubleshooting of VDI infrastructure. Ensuring optimal resource utilization, including storage, compute, and network resources.
4. Security and Compliance: Implementing and enforcing security best practices within the VDI environment, including user authentication, data encryption, and access control.
5. User Experience and Support: Ensuring end-users have a seamless experience with VDI solutions. Troubleshooting and resolving complex issues escalated from the helpdesk or desktop support teams.
6. Documentation and Reporting: Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation on VDI design, configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and best practices. Providing regular reports to management on VDI performance, usage, and ongoing projects.

To succeed in the role, you:

1. have a bachelor's degree in computer software engineering, computer science, or a related field.
2. have proven experience in implementing and managing VDI environments, including Citrix, Microsoft AVD, or Amazon WorkSpaces.
3. have strong experience in Windows Server and understand Microsoft 365.
4. are familiar with automation tools (e.g., PowerShell) for VDI environment management and deployment.
5. have strong troubleshooting skills for VDI environments, including desktop delivery, resource allocation, and endpoint configuration.
6. experience with cloud-hosted VDI solutions is a plus.
