Senior Finance Analyst - General Accounting & Interco

A. Job Summary:

The Senior Finance Analyst – Record to Report (General Accounting & InterCo) will be responsible for the operations of general ledger with a focus to perform month end, quarter end and year end close activities and to ensure related function activities process accurately and timely in accordance with established processes in compliance with the Company policies and procedures, audit requirements and internal controls, Service Level Agreement (SLA) and key performance indicators (KPIs). This role will also involve coordination with local companies, other finance, and non-finance parties to foster close working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the organization's efficient operation and success.

B. Responsibilities:

  • Ensure month end close tasks are executed in a timely manner and in accordance with established work procedures and month end close timelines
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of financial reports for corporate, local, and statutory reporting
  • Prepare and post journals relating to general ledger and royalty activity
  • Perform control checks and ensure all transactions and month end activities are approved and processed completely, accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with SLAs and KPIs
  • Perform variance analysis and investigate unusual fluctuations
  • Perform royalty accounting
  • Monitor accruals, amortization and prepayments and ensure timely reversals
  • Perform analysis and reconciliation of GL account balances. Investigate and follow up on unreconciled items and ensure timely resolution.
  • Perform G/L account open item clearing in a timely and accurate manner
  • Attend to local company and customer queries and ensure timely resolution. Escalate unresolved issues in a timely manner.
  • Support new and junior team members through proper knowledge transfer, sharing of resources, knowledge, and experience.
  • Preparing and updating work procedures and training materials, when required.
  • Assist and support internal and statutory audits.
  • Perform such other tasks as required by Team Manager / Process Manager
  • Proactively identify, propose and implement standardisation, best practices and continuous improvement opportunities.

C. Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting/ Finance or professional accounting qualifications (e.g. ACCA or CPA).

D. Skills:

  • Minimum 4 years of working experience in related field
  • Experienced working in an ERP environment (e.g. Hyperion, Oracle, SAP, NetSuite) environment.
  • Good knowledge of accounting, internal controls, US GAAP and SOX requirements
  • Good process improvement skills
  • Good English written and verbal communication skills
  • Good Mandarin written and verbal communication skills due to serving Taiwan market
  • Experienced in audit is a plus
  • Experienced managing full set of accounts is an added advantage
  • Experienced working in a shared service or MNC environment is an added advantage
  • Good interpersonal and people management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging fast paced environment
  • Good leadership skills
  • Ability to motivate and cultivate teamwork
  • Drives organization to excel and improve

F. Salary Range:

  • RM4000 - RM5500
