This role will serve as the Solution Architect for Legal, Audit, Risk, Conduct, Financial Crime and Compliance (LARC) within Group Functions TTO. The Solution Architect will be part of the wider Functions Architecture Team and work closely with the various Domain Technology Teams to drive architecture strategy, roadmap, governance and provide architecture guidance. The role is expected to bring together business understanding and technology thought leadership to drive solution and design excellence in the respective domains.

Strategy
  1. Responsible for Solution Architecture for Risk, Compliance within Group Functions TTO.
  2. Work with other Solution Architects across Functions Architecture and Group Architecture to ensure that Group and Functions Architecture Strategies are executed within the area of responsibility.
  3. Collaborate with Application Architects and Project Teams to ensure solutions align with wider Functions/Group Architecture Strategy, Policy and Standards.
  4. Work with Application Architects, Project Teams and Vendors to ensure that Patterns and Best Practices are being considered and applied appropriately.
  5. Review Vendor product architecture and capabilities.
Business
  1. Collaborate with Business and Technology stakeholders to drive alignment between Business, Architecture and Technology Strategies.
  2. Drive technology simplification, identifying opportunities to rationalise to fewer best of breed platforms.
  3. Contribute to investment planning/prioritisation with the businesses and T&I.
  4. Drive cloud adoption and modernisation of technology landscape across respective domains while balancing regulatory requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcesses
  1. Review and ensure projects are implemented in line with approved architecture/target architecture.
  2. Work with Application Architects and Project teams on evaluations and Proof of Concepts for new technologies.
  3. Contribute to development of architecture strategy and standards for the organization.
  4. Create, maintain or review Domain/Sub-Domain level architecture documentation.
  5. Review Application/Project level architecture documentation.
  6. Ensure compliance with architecture processes and deliverables at the Domain/Sub-domain level.
People & Talent
  1. Report to Head Architect/Domain Architect for FCSO & LARC.
  2. Collaborate closely with Application Architect and Project team to provide guidance and drive architecture direction.
Risk Management
  1. Proactively seek assurance that function is performing to acceptable risk and control standards.
  2. Act decisively when any risk and control weakness becomes apparent.
  3. Balance business performance delivery and cost management with risk and control matters.
  4. Collaborate with risk and control teams.
Governance
  1. Participate in domain architecture governance forums.
  2. Accountable for governance of all architecture decisions across relevant domains.
  3. Ensure compliance with SCB data governance frameworks.
  4. Ensure compliance with regulatory and business conduct standards.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  1. Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
  2. Embed the highest standards of ethics and compliance.
  3. Collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
  4. Lead the team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank's Conduct Principles.

  1. Global Head, Legal, Audit, Risk and Compliance Technology.
  2. Domain Heads of Risk and Compliance Technology.
  3. Application Architects and Development Managers/Leads, Project Teams in Risk & Compliance.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • 10+ years of experience in a hands-on role for solution architecture, preferably in banking.
  • Experience in large, complex organisations, ability to handle cultural diversity and managing senior stakeholders.
  • 3 years of experience with Legal, Audit, Risk and Compliance platforms.
  • 3 years of experience on developing enterprise applications using modern programming languages.
  • Experience in web-based workflow application development is a plus.
  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
