Finance Project Manager, ERP Project (2 Years Contract)

The ERP Project Manager will lead the implementation and integration of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system across the organization, ensuring its successful deployment within defined timelines and budgets. This role requires careful planning, execution, and project finalization while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, operations, and external vendors. The goal is to deliver a fully integrated ERP solution that aligns with business objectives and enhances operational efficiency.

A key aspect of the role involves applying change management principles, processes, and tools to drive ERP adoption across the organization. This includes designing and executing change strategies, assessing stakeholder impacts, evaluating organizational readiness, and implementing effective communication, training, and behavioral change initiatives to ensure a smooth transition.

Given PPG's strong focus on financial, operational, and systems controls, the ERP Project Manager must bring a strategic mindset to the role. By reinforcing control disciplines within PPG processes, this position will contribute to strengthening financial operations and advancing the overall success of the PPG Group.

Project Planning & Management:

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that align with business goals.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor and track project milestones, deliverables, and performance.
  • Manage project risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and effective communication.

ERP Implementation & Integration:

  • Lead end-to-end ERP implementation across multiple business units.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to gather business requirements and ensure alignment with ERP capabilities.
  • Work with ERP vendors and consultants to ensure system configurations meet business needs.
  • Oversee data migration, system integration, and testing phases to ensure a smooth transition to the new system.
  • Ensure successful user acceptance testing (UAT) and go-live support.

Stakeholder & Team Management:

  • Act as a liaison between technical teams, business stakeholders, and third-party vendors.
  • Manage cross-functional teams, providing leadership and direction to achieve project objectives.
  • Facilitate change management initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of new processes and systems.
  • Conduct training sessions and create training materials for end-users.
  • Ensure post-implementation support and continuous system optimization.

Budget & Resource Management:

  • Develop and manage the project budget, ensuring costs are controlled and within budget.
  • Allocate resources efficiently and ensure proper utilization.
  • Negotiate contracts with ERP vendors and consultants as needed.
  • Identify areas for improvement in existing processes and systems.
  • Proactively recommend and implement enhancements to increase efficiency and effectiveness of ERP operations.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in ERP systems and project management.

What you'll Need -

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience managing ERP implementation projects (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Workday).
  • Strong understanding of business processes across finance, HR, supply chain, and operations.
  • Proven experience with data migration, system integration, and process reengineering.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on results.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet).
