About Kirby South East Asia

Kirby South East Asia started its operation in 2008 with a 50,000 MT annual capacity plant in Vietnam. In its few years of operation, Kirby SEA has designed and supplied various buildings in Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Australia, Bangladesh, and Myanmar markets. Kirby South East Asia is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kirby International.

Responsibilities

Drawing Approvals to Fabrication Stage: 30%

  • Coordinate with Sales team (stationed locally in Malaysia or in Singapore) and Project/QC/Production/Logistics teams stationed in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam to ensure smooth workflow – starting from GA drawing submissions to Contractor/Consultant.
  • Read and understand Steel Structure Drawings.
  • Handle Contractor/Consultant comments in drawings, record the same in the internal work order forms, and coordinate with PMG (Project Management)/Design/Detailing teams to revise & re-submit the GA Drawings, following up to ensure timely drawing approvals by the client.
  • Keep track of key project timelines and ensure Raw Material procurement, Shop Drawing releases, Fabrication, Inspection, and shipment is done by the corresponding teams in time.
  • Maintain necessary documentation of all tasks.
  • Proactively set checkpoints to ensure priority items needed on site are released for fabrication, packed, and shipped as per the erection sequence by the team in Vietnam.

Material Arrival Stage: 10%

  • Coordinate with Contractor/Erector in advance to ensure sufficient Laydown area, site condition readiness for material delivery, and lifting arrangements are on standby.
  • Coordinate with logistics agent in Malaysia for delivery of containers to site at the required date/time/sequence.
  • Get the Delivery Order signed off by the Contractor/Erector.
  • Guide the Contractor/Erector for proper offloading of materials and store the materials properly in the laydown area.
  • Prepare Method Statement for Installation, daily and weekly reports.
  • Attend Daily and Weekly site meetings and represent Kirby.
  • Closely monitor the Erector in every erection task to ensure a smooth erection process.
  • Raise any difficulties to PMG/Factory/QC team found in erection work to get proper solutions.
  • Keep track of manhours for any site rectification works/delays to ensure site claims made are reasonable.
  • Prepare site claim for any shortage or damage of delivered material.
  • Monitor Erector compliance with safety requirements and the erection sequence as per the Method Statement issued.
  • Support the sales team in identifying potential erectors, obtaining erection quotes during the quotation stage, and coordinating with customers to understand the scope, finalizing the erection contract with a clearly defined scope of work.

Travel Requirements:

  • Candidates are required to travel to and work from the site. Some travel may be needed to cover East Malaysia too.

Qualifications

  • University degree holder (Construction/Civil/Mechanical engineer).
  • 02 to 06+ years of Project management/Erection experience, preferably in Steel Structures/Pre-Engineered Steel Buildings.
  • Good command of English.
  • Able to read Drawings and Specs, and be familiar with MS Project, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Passionate about steel buildings.
  • Ability to interact and build rapport with all levels of personnel on site and work collaboratively.
