Description

We are looking for a talented Project Manager – Power Generation to join our team in Malaysia. This will be following Hybrid work model. This role will also require travelling within Malaysia and overseas. Preferred location will be either Johor or Puchong, Malaysia.

A Power Generation Project Manager is a professional responsible for overseeing and managing the planning, execution, and successful completion of power generation projects. These projects typically involve the construction, commissioning, and maintenance of various types of Power Generation equipment and associated balance of plant. The Project Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring that the project is completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Key Responsibilities
  1. Manages, develops, and implements project(s) of varying complexity and size in assigned functional area. Partners with business stakeholders to ensure a successful project completion.
  2. Leads multiple projects from inception to completion; facilitates project planning sessions with internal stakeholders to determine the scope and objectives of each project; works with business stakeholders to establish project performance goals; designs project plan, develops timeline, identifies project milestones, and tracks performance against performance goals and timeline.
  3. Identifies, tracks, and works with others to resolve project issues.
  4. Monitors and communicates project status to project team.
  5. Plans and monitors project budget, conducts research and analysis; provides input into the design and development of project plans and timelines.
  6. Manages project risk; uses quality tools to identify areas of risk; works with others on the team and outside the team to identify alternatives or solutions.
  7. Documents and shares team learnings with other teams; draws on other project team experiences to enhance the success of the project.
  8. Maintains project notes, databases, and other records; monitors, measures and communicates with Project Sponsor and other stakeholders on status of specific projects and assignments.
  9. Identifies and assigns appropriate resources to accomplish various project tasks; guides and coaches team members through various stages of the project; provides developmental feedback to team members.

  8. Project Management - Establishes and maintains the balance of scope, schedule and resources for a temporary effort (a "project"). Ensures results/impact from temporary effort are fully realized as possible.
  9. Project Resource Management - Develops resource (expense and headcount) plans using recommended project management tools and processes to manage resources effectively.
  10. Project Schedule Management - Manages the planned schedule using the recommended schedule management tools and processes to drive completion within the agreed timeline.
  11. Project Scope Management - Manages a list of project deliverables (scope) using the recommended project management tools and processes to ensure that the project includes all the work required and only the work required to complete the project successfully.
  12. Adapts to target audience - Explains complex topics (significant technical data, subject matter expertise, etc.) in such a way that the target audience (e.g. sales professionals, customers, training vendors, etc.) can understand, retain, and use the information.
  13. Integrates Customer Perspective - Incorporates an understanding of the customers' perspective on our products and sales efforts to develop sales content that improves our ability to meet their needs and increase revenue.
  14. Values differences - Recognizing the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to an organization.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualification:
  1. A bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field (master's degree preferred).
  2. Project management certification (PMP, Prince2, etc.) is a plus.
  3. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  4. Knowledge of datacenter infrastructure, power solutions, and industry regulations is a plus.
  5. Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  6. In-depth knowledge of power generation technologies, regulations, and industry standards.
  7. Ability to handle complex technical and operational challenges.
  8. Experience in managing cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  9. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  10. High attention to detail and organizational skills.
