Responsibilities:
  • Day to day operations, monitoring and maintenance tasks, such as:
  • User Administration
  • Proactive Monitoring
  • Backup Execution & Monitoring
  • Capacity & Performance Monitoring & Fine-tuning
  • Operations Reporting in accordance to ITIL best practices & systems (HP Service Manager, Jira Service Manager)
  • Manage various database high availability setups, such as database replication and clustering
  • Advanced administrative and troubleshooting as a Database Administrator (working closely with remote teams)
  • Implement, migrate, and upgrade databases in accordance with architecture design specifications and standards
Requirements:
  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • ITIL Foundation Certification
  • Minimum of 3 years professional experience in database administration
  • Strong knowledge and working experience in open-source database administration: MySQL (and/or MariaDB) and PostgreSQL
  • Good knowledge of NoSQL technologies such as Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, MongoDB, or CassandraDB
  • Preferably experience with Sybase (SAP ASE, SAP IQ, SAP Replication Server)
  • Advanced skills in creating and analyzing SQL statements and DB behavior
  • Advanced skills in database high availability features such as Galera Cluster and Master-Slave Replication
  • Knowledge and working experience with openSUSE Build Service
  • Knowledge and experience with automation solutions using Ansible
  • Knowledge and working experience in SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and RedHat
  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networking, such as packet analysis and routing
  • Knowledge and working experience in AWS and/or Microsoft Azure is an advantage
  • Understanding of database security features/products is an advantage
  • Good analytical, interpersonal, and English communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • This job demands flexibility and willingness to work in a dynamic environment with customer-driven projects. The candidates are expected to communicate with clients and colleagues in the EU regularly.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines. Independent, self-disciplined, self-organized, and able to learn and work under minimum supervision.
