Our client is a US based manufacturing company located in Ipoh.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and define the process capabilities, along with establishing capacity and productivity models.
  • Fully characterize and define the assigned process to ensure product specifications are met.
  • Define and manage the Process Control Plan (PCP) while working on improving critical process capabilities based on product drawings, specifications, and the Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Understand and apply the necessary controls, equipment, precautions, and setup parameters to ensure compliance with product specifications.
  • Use lean manufacturing methodologies to reduce waste, enhance production efficiency, and drive yield improvement initiatives.
  • Take responsibility for the process yields and implement corrective actions to optimize performance.
  • Perform gage repeatability and reliability studies, correlation studies, and take action to enhance these capabilities. Develop plans to address any out-of-control situations.
  • Support manufacturing teams in operator training, qualifications, and improving workforce productivity, as well as helping reduce inventory.
  • Communicate effectively with peers to foster collaboration and enhance team dynamics.
  • Apply emotional intelligence to cultivate a positive and efficient working environment.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and optimize resource usage to achieve better outcomes.
  • Undertake additional tasks assigned by the direct supervisor as required.
  • Apply risk-based thinking when planning and executing tasks.
  • Adhere to ISO standards, company policies, and relevant regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Science/Engineering, preferably with a focus in Electronics, Photonics, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechatronics.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a related field, ideally in a mass production environment.
  • Proficiency in computer tools, especially those related to Statistical Process Control (SPC) applications.
  • Strong data analysis skills combined with a practical, hands-on problem-solving approach.
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in response to changing business needs.
  • Familiarity with mechanical dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and poka-yoke principles is a plus.
  • Fluency in Mandarin is required to effectively communicate with counterparts in China.
