Objectives of the Position:

Digitalization will be a true part of BASF's DNA that creates new exciting customer experiences and business growth as well as drives efficiencies in processes. In our SCOTT Solutions unit, you will support our customers on complex IT application topics in sustainability and directly contribute to BASF's strategic path towards net zero.

You will be responsible for solving practical challenges that our internal partners face using state-of-the-art technology and methods.

The team has a portfolio of solutions in productive use as well as in development. The technology setup is a BASF private Azure with Kubernetes hosting containerized web applications written in Python and JavaScript.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and review UI / UX designs, take technical decisions and ensure their implementation.
  • Develop according to modern coding, security and tool standards and implement front-end architecture.
  • Consider development of new applications, as well as operations and maintenance as valuable parts of your work.
  • Evaluate technical innovations in terms of their usefulness for the team.
  • Work in a self-organized way within a small team and collaborate across different solutions.
  • Lead subprojects and align with internal partners on scope, feasibility and timeline.
  • Monitor, test and improve front-end performance.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science or a comparable field.
  • Minimum 3 years related working experience in front-end development.
  • Expertise in a front-end component-based framework like Vue, React, or Angular.
  • In-depth knowledge of HTML, CSS3, SCSS, REST API (JSON) is required.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD DevOps framework and version control systems (e.g., GIT).
  • Familiarity with GitHub Copilot.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
