Responsibilities:

  1. Receiving and handling blood and/or other biological specimens according to established procedures.
  2. Performs a variety of clinical laboratory tests in the areas of haematology, microbiology, immunology, clinical chemistry, and urinalysis.
  3. Conducts quantitative and qualitative chemical analyses of body fluids such as blood and urine and performs blood counts using a microscope.
  4. Performs quality control on test results, ensuring validity and accuracy.
  5. Performs calibration and troubleshooting on testing systems and instruments to ensure adherence to established standards of accuracy.
  6. Able to maintain instruments and troubleshoot problems.
  7. Keeps records and reports on results according to established procedures.
  8. Practices safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods.
  9. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. Possess Bachelor Degree in Biochemistry, Biomedical Science or Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognised University.
  2. 1-2 years experience in laboratory work gained in a medical laboratory or hospitals. Fresh graduates can also apply as training is provided.
  3. Must be prepared and willing to work overtime.
  4. Mature, resourceful, independent, meticulous & able to work under pressure.
  5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and with good command of English (both oral and written).
  6. Self-starter, motivated and possess self-initiative.
