About the Role:

The Head of IT at Mr DIY is responsible for leading the company's IT strategy, ensuring the implementation of technology solutions, and maintaining robust IT operations. The role focuses on enhancing business efficiency, security and digital transformation to support the company's growth and competitive positioning.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute the company's IT strategy, aligning with business goals.
  2. Establish IT governance frameworks, policies, and best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  3. Manage IT budgets and optimise costs while ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  4. Drive digitalisation and data analytics initiatives.
  5. Identify emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on business operations.
  6. Collaborate with stakeholders to implement IT solutions that improve efficiency and scalability.

IT Infrastructure & Operations:

  1. Ensure the stability, security, and scalability of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, cloud solutions, and enterprise applications.
  2. Oversee IT service management, including incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
  3. Ensure system uptime and optimal performance for retail operations, including Point of Sale (POS) systems and supply chain technology.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management:

  1. Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies to protect company data and IT assets.
  2. Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards.
  3. Lead risk management efforts by implementing proactive security measures and monitoring for potential threats.
  4. Lead and mentor the IT team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  5. Collaborate with business units to provide technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
  6. Manage relationships with external vendors, ensuring service quality and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Required Skills:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT leadership roles, preferably in retail, e-commerce, or a fast-growing organisation.

Preferred Skills:

Proven track record of leading IT strategy, digital transformation, and large-scale IT projects. Strong knowledge of cloud computing, cybersecurity, ERP systems, and data analytics. Experience managing IT budgets and vendor relationships. Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
