Job Summary:

As a Zero-Based Budgeting (ZBB) Analyst for the APAC region, you will be responsible for supporting the implementation and execution of the ZBB process across multiple markets in the APAC region. This includes analyzing financial data, building models, and working closely with various business units to ensure that budgets are allocated efficiently and based on current needs, rather than historical spending. Your role will be crucial in optimizing cost structures and improving financial performance across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

Zero-Based Budgeting Implementation:

  1. Assist in driving the ZBB process for APAC, including collaborating with business leaders to define financial goals and cost structures.
  2. Ensure that all cost centers and functions across the APAC region are built from the ground up, with no assumptions based on prior budgets.
  3. Facilitate and manage the bottom-up budgeting process, ensuring that all budgets align with business objectives and strategic priorities.

Analysis and Reporting:

  1. Perform in-depth financial analysis and provide insights into cost drivers, identifying areas for potential savings or reallocations.
  2. Create financial models and reports to track budget performance across various departments and geographies.
  3. Analyze variances between actual and budgeted costs, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  1. Work with finance teams, department heads, and operational managers to gather detailed input on budget assumptions and projections.
  2. Serve as a liaison between finance and other business functions to ensure alignment on financial targets, resource allocation, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  3. Support the leadership team in preparing and presenting ZBB-driven financial plans to senior management.
  4. Identify opportunities for streamlining and improving the ZBB process to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  5. Keep up to date with market trends, industry benchmarks, and regulatory changes in the APAC region that may impact budgeting practices.
  6. Support the development and enhancement of budgeting tools and systems.

Compliance and Governance:

  1. Ensure that all budgeting processes comply with corporate governance, internal controls, and relevant financial policies.
  2. Maintain proper documentation of all budgeting and forecasting activities to meet audit and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA or relevant certifications like CFA or CIMA preferred).
  2. 3-5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), budgeting, or a similar role, with exposure to Zero-Based Budgeting.
  3. Strong understanding of ZBB principles and experience in its application across multiple markets or regions.
  4. Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings to senior leadership.
  7. Knowledge of the APAC market, its financial landscape, and regional regulatory considerations is preferred.
  8. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
