The Manager, Business Analytics is responsible for transforming data into actionable insights to drive business performance, optimize decision-making, and support strategic initiatives. This role involves analysing key business metrics, identifying trends, and providing data-driven recommendations to improve financial outcomes, operational efficiency, and overall business growth. The incumbent will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance data utilization, develop predictive models, and ensure accurate reporting for effective business planning.

Job scope includes:

  1. Oversee data analysis and business intelligence functions to provide actionable insights.
  2. Support financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting with data-driven recommendations.
  3. Design and implement performance tracking metrics to monitor business effectiveness.
  4. Work closely with finance, operations, commercial, and IT teams to enhance data utilization.
  5. Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of data used for decision-making.

KEY RESULT AREAS / RESPONSIBILITIES

Business & Financial Analytics

  1. Develop financial models to analyze revenue, cost structures, and profitability.
  2. Conduct variance analysis, scenario planning, and forecasting for business units.
  3. Identify opportunities for revenue growth, cost optimization, and efficiency improvements.

Data Management & Reporting

  1. Design, automate, and maintain dashboards and reports for senior management.
  2. Utilize business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL) to extract and visualize data.
  3. Ensure consistency and accuracy of business data across systems.

Business Strategy & Decision Support

  1. Provide insights into market trends, customer behavior, and competitive analysis.
  2. Develop business cases for strategic initiatives, investments, and process improvements.
  3. Identify risks and opportunities through in-depth data analysis.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  1. Work closely with finance, operations, sales, and IT teams to align analytics with business goals.
  2. Present findings and recommendations to senior management in a clear and actionable format.
  3. Guide and mentor team members on data analytics best practices.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Qualifications & Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Analytics, Data Science, Economics, or a related field.
  2. Professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA, CIMA) is an advantage.
  3. Minimum 8 years of experience in business analytics, financial analysis, or data-driven decision-making.
  4. Strong knowledge of SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or other analytics platforms.
  5. Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  7. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  8. Ability to translate complex data into meaningful business insights.
  9. Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset.
  10. Ability to work independently and lead a team effectively.
