The Opportunity

  1. Design development of Electrical Services (LV & ELV) in various stages of building and/or other projects, including tender, conceptual and detail design stages; contract documentation, authority submissions, contract administration, attending site meetings.
  2. Providing design calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications.
  3. Hands-on electrical services design for a range of projects and able to operate as an electrical services designer for medium and large-scale projects.
  4. Assist in reviewing and preparation of general specifications for projects, review contractor's shop drawings and alternative design proposals.
  5. Liaise with other discipline designers to resolve design development issues.
  6. Support the firm's compliance in maintaining ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 requirements.
  7. Delivery of projects ensuring that technical deliverables are on-time and within budget.
  8. Play an active role contributing to technical excellence in our Electrical Practice.
  9. Opportunity to develop further as a leader and as a subject matter specialist. Lead and mentor graduate/junior engineers.

About you:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  2. 5-10 years of experience in electrical engineering/building services industry in a consulting firm essential.
  3. Experience with BIM (Revit) skills, ETAP, VipCoda, ProDesign, Dialux, or a willingness to learn computer modelling techniques/tools.
  4. Working towards professional or chartered engineering status.
  5. Understanding of local regulatory and code requirements.
  6. Motivated and enthusiastic with a growth mindset.
  7. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to communicate complex issues and concepts clearly, succinctly and with influence.
  8. Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
  9. A strong digital solutions drive with an interest and enthusiasm for sustainability.
  10. Commercially astute with good client-facing acumen who is open to new ideas and innovation.
