What will you be doing
We're looking for a Performance & Rewards Manager to join our team in Malaysia. This is a hybrid role, based in Bangi, where you'll work on-site 2–3 days per week, with the flexibility to work remotely for the remainder. You should also be open to occasional travel to Penang and Singapore as part of your regional responsibilities.
In this strategic and high-impact role, you'll lead the design and implementation of a structured, professional Compensation & Benefits framework across our global operations.
This position plays a key role in establishing best-in-class reward strategies that align with our business goals, enhance employee engagement, and ensure competitiveness in the market. This is a pivotal position that requires a mix of strategic vision and hands-on execution, working closely with senior leadership, regional HR teams, and external partners to develop a fair, transparent, and performance-driven rewards structure.
The Performance & Rewards Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that the company remains competitive in the labor markets that we operate in, complies with legal standards, and creates a work environment where employees are motivated, rewarded, and engaged.
Further more you will focus on:
Compensation Strategy & Implementation:
- Develop and implement a global compensation philosophy that aligns with business priorities (profitable sustainable growth) and drives performance.
- Design, manage, and benchmark salary structures, incentive plans, and recognition programs.
- Ensure internal equity and external competitiveness across all locations.
Performance Management:
- Lead the re-design and implementation of a company-wide performance management framework.
- Establish structured goal-setting, evaluation, and reward mechanisms to drive high performance.
- Partner with HRBPs and business leaders to promote a strong performance culture.
Job Evaluation & Grading:
- Re-develop a standardizedjob evaluation methodology to ensure consistency in grading and compensation decisions.
- Work with HR and line managers to classify roles fairly and consistently across the company.
Executive Compensation & Governance:
- Support leadership in designing executive compensation plans, including long-term incentives, bonuses, and stock options (if applicable).
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, tax, and legal requirements in different regions.
Benefits & Perks Optimization:
- Review and enhance global and local benefits offerings (e.g., insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs).
- Develop a scalable global mobility framework.
- Ensure cost-effectiveness while maximizing employee value.
HR Analytics & Reporting:
- Establish key compensation and performance KPIs to track impact and drive data-driven decisions.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on trends, workforce analytics, and competitive market data.
Compliance & Market Benchmarking:
- Stay up to date with industry trends, legal changes, and best practices in compensation & benefits.
- Conduct market benchmarking to ensure competitive pay structures and employee satisfaction.
What we are looking for:
- 8+ years of experience in Total Rewards, Compensation & Benefits, or Performance Management, with a proven track record in multi-country HR environments.
- Deep expertise in HR frameworks, including job grading systems, compensation structures, and performance management tools.
- A strategic and analytical thinker with strong hands-on execution skills, capable of designing long-term strategies while managing day-to-day operations.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior leadership, HR teams, and external partners.
- Proficient in HR analytics, market benchmarking, and compensation modeling to support data-driven decision-making
- Demonstrated global exposure and understanding of regional compensation laws and practices across multiple countries
- Degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CCP, GRP) are a strong advantage
