Your responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the design and technical documentation of uninterruptible power supply systems (UPS) for the duration of the project contract from the stage of project transfer from the Sales department through the delivery of the system.
  • Develop independently the technical solution for complex projects based on customer needs, quality aspects, and cost efficiency.
  • Actively support and coach team members.
  • Knowledgeable about the Gutor UPS solution (XXW, SDC, PXP, etc.) and is the first point of contact related to technical questions raised by the Project Manager.
  • Work in close contact with the project team (Project Managers, Technical Manager) and maintain good relations with R&D and Procurement, responsible for project-related support required by Assembly and Test bay.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • 3rd Party Supplier Management: Technical clarification and order placement (UNC/Purchase Requisitions) with 3rd party suppliers.

Solution Support:

  • Responsible for keeping engineering milestones according to the agreed project schedule; any changes and adjustments must be done in agreement with Project Management.
  • Participate in handover meetings between Sales Engineer/Tendering and Project Manager.
  • Review customer specifications and identify special requirements.
  • Support the Project Manager in evaluating technical customer comments and preparing their replies.

Solution Design:

  • Responsible for the UPS configuration, UPS detail design (including BOM preparation) according to customer specifications, Gutor processes, and defined standards.
  • Ensure cost-optimized engineering solutions while maintaining a high quality level.
  • Design and create the BOM of the UPS with the available engineering tools.
  • Design the UPS with the help of the future EPLAN engineering tool (Drawings & BOM).
  • Prepare project-specific technical documents (technical data, test documents, calculations, etc.).
  • PLC programming for special features.
  • Prepare non-standard instructions for manuals.

Operations Support:

  • Prepare assembly documentation (BB-Blue Binder).
  • Prepare test bay documentation (GB-Green Binder).
  • Prepare Change Instructions (CI).
  • Provide support to assembly and test bay at the shop floor.
  • Perform the System Release.

Inspections:

  • Support the Project Manager during Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) on specific technical aspects.
  • Initiate modifications by CI (Change Instruction) resulting from FAT Punch Items.
  • Prepare/execute technical inspections (DNV / ABS / CSA, etc.).

Others:

  • Support, train, and coach team members, especially novices, based on GUTOR design guidelines.
  • Support the sales/tendering team during the tendering phase.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS – REQUIRED

  • Technical Engineering Degree (Electrical).
  • More than 5 years in the electrical industry.
  • More than 4 years of experience in UPS design.
  • Experience in designing large and/or complex projects independently.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Fluent in English (written and oral).
  • Ability to handle several projects in parallel.
  • IT literate (Windows, MS Office).
  • Experience in preparing electrical drawings (EPLAN).
  • Excellent UPS knowledge.
