This job is for a Quantity Surveyor responsible for project budgeting, subcontractor evaluations, progress claims, and site measurements. You might like this job because it offers a diverse range of responsibilities in construction management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare project budget and material quantity, regularly review and update management on the budgeted cost during implementation of the project to ensure cost within budget for the project.
  • Prepare work done certificates for sub-contractors in accordance with work certified by the consultant and ensure work done certificates tally with what is done on site.
  • Evaluate sub-contractors' bids and analyze costing before recommending to award jobs to sub-contractors.
  • Prepare submission of interim progress claims and ensure work is certified timely and accurately by the client/main contractor through site evaluation.
  • Attend site visits and site meetings as required by management.
  • Prepare for site measurement, take off quantity, and source for quotations.
  • Liaise with consultants on final payment valuation and certificate of making good defects.
  • Liaise with clients and consultants and prepare for submission of loss and expense claims.
  • Liaise with site personnel and prepare extensions of time with suitable clauses for submission.
  • Ensure submission of progress claims and final accounts are prepared on time.
  • Responsible for variation orders and calling quotations.
  • Assist in tender activities if required.
  • Responsible for subordinates' performance, ensuring that they meet their goals and objectives.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by management.
Job Requirements
  • Must possess a Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying/Building Construction.
  • At least 3 years working experience in Pre & Post contract administration, preferably with a main contractor.
  • Experience in Infrastructure work is preferred.
  • Required language(s): English, Bahasa, and Mandarin.
  • Basic knowledge of Glodon software.
  • Willing to relocate and travel anywhere within Malaysia.
  • Independent, resourceful, and able to work under minimal supervision.
  • Able to work under tight timelines and capable of multi-tasking.
  • Well familiar with Microsoft Office tools.
