Job Description:

  1. Manage and provide oversight and direction to the purchasing team to ensure the team performs effectively.
  2. Strategic planning for the department to achieve its annual objectives.
  3. Implement cost reduction programs with suppliers, monitoring product and service quality/on-time delivery performance by key suppliers.
  4. Drive sourcing strategy and execution that delivers a competitive advantage, including implementation of strategic supplier initiatives such as supplier selection, development, and consolidation to ensure sourcing optimization and overall supplier performance.
  5. Analyze supplier performance and evaluate in terms of delivery, quality, and responsiveness. Review/update the Approved Supplier List.
  6. Identify and evaluate sourcing opportunities. Develop negotiation strategies with suppliers focusing on optimal quality, cost, and delivery while monitoring and analyzing supplier performance for benchmarking and expense optimization.
  7. Maintain purchase orders and ensure on-time and accurate submission of orders to suppliers.
  8. Act as a solution provider for all purchasing matters.
  9. Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  10. Develop suitable product plan proposals and price assortment strategies to deliver profit to the company.
  11. Liaise with the material planner team to forecast a balanced quantity of products/materials to purchase.
  12. Ensure sourcing strategies achieve cost competitiveness, cost reduction programs, and maximize purchasing value.
  13. Identify and develop strategic supply sources for all commodities.
  14. Work with suppliers, engineering, and other departments to drive lean initiatives, including just-in-time sourcing.
  15. Manage the material function to meet the KPI.
  16. Monitor on-time receiving of inventory.
