Job Purpose

You will be part of the Great Eastern's Risk Management team, specifically in the area of Technology Risk Management. Your main role is to manage IT risks identification, mitigation and monitoring, develop/review Technology related frameworks, policies and guidelines and conduct related training and awareness programs.

The Role

  1. Assist in development/review of core Technology frameworks, policies and guidelines
  2. Proactively identify and incorporate relevant requirements from regulatory guidelines/Acts to ensure compliance
  3. Facilitate Technology risk management to ensure effective risk identification, mitigation and monitoring
  4. In particular, to review management of Technology related risk and threats and recommend relevant monitoring and mitigating controls
  5. Identify emerging Technology trends, risks and threats
  6. Perform reviews of functions to determine effectiveness and completeness of technology risk identification, mitigation and monitoring
  7. Assess the implementation and compliance to regulatory guidelines, frameworks and policies. This will include reviews of Outsourced Service Providers (OSPs) and other third-party vendors
  8. Review adequacy and effectiveness of IT contingency and disaster recovery strategies and plans
  9. Prepare relevant reports and table the same at relevant management or board committee meetings
  10. Participate or perform reviews of IT projects to ensure that risks are accurately identified and effectively managed
  11. Provide advice on technology risks, frameworks, policies and regulatory requirements
  12. Participate in DR and BCM activities and tests
  13. Provide advice on DR / BCM risks, policies and regulatory requirements
  14. Determine effectiveness of implementation and compliance to laws and regulations and policies
  15. Ensure that frameworks, policies and guidelines are reviewed timely
  16. Provide guidance and training to DROs/DCOs, vendors and agents on technology-related subjects
  17. Promote risk awareness for the company
  18. Take accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and take appropriate steps to mitigate the risks
  19. Maintain awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company
  20. Highlight any potential concerns /risks and proactively share best risk management practices
  21. Other responsibilities entailed

The Person

  1. Possess a recognised Degree in Computer Science, Information System or related disciplines
  2. Good risk identification and management skills
  3. Ability to manage, motivate and lead support personnel
  4. Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks with given deadlines
  5. Possess strong analytical, problem-solving skills
  6. Team player and performs well under pressure
  7. Excellent people & project management
  8. Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  9. Good IT related knowledge in the following areas:
  • a) Risks management and mitigating controls
  • b) Cyber Security and controls
  • c) Regulatory requirements
  • d) Policies and best IT practices, methodologies and benchmarks
