About the Role

As a Sales Performance Trainer with a focus on Seller Activation, Product Activation, and Segment Activation, this role involves delivering comprehensive training programmes, from licensing to onboarding and continuous development. The position requires developing and executing learning strategies, analyzing sales performance data, and fostering professional growth. Additionally, the role includes managing training budgets, leveraging modern learning technologies, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with business goals and enhance overall training effectiveness. Building strong relationships and driving initiatives to support sales activation and productivity are also key responsibilities.

Sales Training Management:

  • Conduct necessary training from Licensing (LIAM, CEILI, PIAM, TAKAFUL) to Onboarding and Post Onboarding Training of Rookies.
  • Develop and manage learning and development strategy for all Sales Distribution Channels.
  • Lead, coach, and build a high-performing PD Sales Academy team.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify training needs, align programs with business goals, and assess training effectiveness.
  • Analyse sales performance data to develop training strategies for improved sales performance.
  • Cultivate continuous professional development within the team, department, and AIA Group L&D.
  • Manage training budget to ensure cost-effective training.
  • Acquire feedback to identify effective and innovative training initiatives.
  • Manage third-party relationships and contract negotiations with external providers.
  • Collaborate with AIA cross-functional teams to outline training improvements for scalability and sustainability.
  • Leverage learning technology to modernize learning processes.
  • Lead recruitment efforts to attract and onboard top talent.
  • Provide ongoing support and coaching to drive continuous improvement in sales performance.
  • Support and drive all sellers on activation and productivity through various initiatives.
  • Initiate, drive, activate, and track new product initiatives with Sales, Campaign, and Strategic teams.

Stakeholder Management and Collaboration:

  • Work closely with Distribution Channel Sales Heads on sales personnel performance and skill enhancement.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and corporate partners to drive business.
  • Build effective working relationships with senior leadership, channel stakeholders, corporate partners, sales teams, AIA Group L&D, and local HR teams.
  • Enhance and broaden the learning ecosystem between PBB and AIA.
  • Engage and manage positive communication with PBB stakeholders and AIA management.
  • Support the success of all PD sales distribution channels through collaboration with existing and future project stakeholders.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years in the financial industry, specifically in sales and academy training.
  • Minimum degree holder in any discipline from a reputable university.
  • CFP/RFP certification is a strong advantage.
  • Other trainer certifications, such as 7 Habits, NLP, and others, are a plus.
  • Experience in trainers' management and sales target management is essential.
  • Knowledge and experience in agile ways of working are advantageous.
  • Actual sales experience with insurance products is a strong advantage.
  • Experience in handling agency business and dealing with agencies is beneficial.
  • Strong leadership management skills are required.
  • Must be independent, proactive, resilient, and sales result-driven.
  • Must be mobile, as outstation travel is required and frequent travel within Klang Valley due to logistics of sales personnel.
  • Ability to plan, develop, and train on training modules and their contents.
