Job Purpose

The position is responsible for the following:

  • An independent and energetic team player who is resourceful and self-motivated in performing monitoring and reporting functions on bankwide GLs closing balances.
  • Developing good analytics and insights in reconciliation operations of the bank and plan to verify the appropriateness of reconciliation prepared.
  • Preparation of dashboards for monthly monitoring and updates to the management.
  • Attend to matters of internal/external audit and any other audit (regulator)
  • Misc write off/ back proposal & submission
  • Other ad-hoc matters assigned

Monitoring & Control

  • Conduct monthly review on variances/unreconciled GL balances with L2 O&A, HOS and HOD.
  • Review and update relevant definitions and classifications of each guidelines set in MYMC Dashboard.
  • Close monitoring and immediate escalation on any outstanding items with respective reconciliation operations team members for resolution and provide solutions and support bankwide remediation programmes.
  • Ensure the MYMC dashboard readiness as per SOP.
  • To coordinate across IARA L1 & L2 O&A team to achieve "Drive to ZERO KPI.
  • Miscellaneous Write off and Write Back Exercise
  • To conduct the Write off/back exercise for bankwide as per procedures.
  • To consolidate the proposals from BU/BE and prepare the necessary master listing.
  • To make sure items are being taken up for provision by BU/BE.
  • To coordinate the submission of the proposal to Group Corporate Assurance Division for the review and assessment.
  • Follow up further for the approval as per Write off/back Exercise Procedures.
  • OBIA Attributes & GL Combinations Repository Maintenance
  • Conduct periodical review on OBIA attributes & GL Combination statistics to ensure accurate repository listing.
  • Engage with Operations & Analytics Team closely and provide guidance in obtaining required information for OBIA attributes fields and GL ownerships tagging.
  • Work closely with COA to ensure all attributes fields and security rules been preset as possible during COA creation stage.
  • To prepare required reports by internal/external auditor.
  • Perform periodical review and revise relevant SOPs, Policy, Procedures whenever there is a process change.
  • Work closely with DCORO to ensure all risk and compliance related assessments and reports are meeting deadline.

People Management

  • Promote quality of deliverable by motivating, coaching and developing team members.
  • Provide guidance to team members in ensuring an adherence to standard policy and procedure.
  • Ensure cross training and rotation of duty occurs on regular basis to increase operational efficiency and reduce operational risk.
  • Update team with latest updates and knowledge whenever required.

Various ongoing Project/Initiatives

  • Follow-up items post Programme Aquarius
  • Any ad-hoc assignment.

Job Specification

* Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or Accounting Professional Qualification.
  • >5-8 years working experience in Banking Finance, Banking System and Operations
  • >5 years in leading a team size of 5-10 people
  • Strong in banking operations.
  • Substantial skills in financial analysis in the past 5 years working experience.

Technical/Functional skills

  • Knowledge of Banking systems used example Oracle system
  • Knowledge on various products and services offered in the industry, including the reporting rules and regulations in the domestic environment.
  • Knowledge in reconciliation.
  • Knowledge of the Accounting Standards and BNM Guidelines essential Personal skills (Soft Competencies [Core/Leadership])
  • Good motivator to the team to inspire them to produce the required results.
  • Strong communicating skills, required in guiding and assisting Business partners to reach outcome for both parties.
  • Good reputation with business units network across the organization both locally and across the region.
