Job Overview:
- Must have a good understanding and hands-on of both technical and business skills.
- They should lead to ensure the network design is future proof, and to manage, monitor and fine tune the existing networks for high network availability, stability, scalability, and security. The professional will work in collaboration with the network engineers and other professionals in network setup to align with business direction.
- Responsibilities:
- Network Design: Design and build the networks by taking into consideration various factors like business, network features, bandwidth, infrastructure, and security requirements. The professional has to understand the data communication needs and come up with the best solutions to meet the requirements. The Network Architect has to take care of the existing network and services and resolve any issues prior to implementation.
- Network Stability and Maintenance: The professionals should baseline the existing network traffic and estimate the growth of the network. They also play a crucial role in upgrading the network equipment for performance improvement and simplifying operation support. It is the responsibility of the Network Architect to manage and monitor the networking systems, making required adjustments and minor repairs to ensure smooth operation.
- The Network Architect should also take care of the scheduled maintenance on network systems to avoid any downtime due to networking issues.
- Network Scalability: The professionals should implement and ensure the network can continue to support business and coverage growth.
- Network Security: Must take into consideration all factors that might affect network security, including establishing user policy and network access.
- Documentation: The Network Architect should maintain a proper record of the network design for future reference and as part of the handover process.
Your Work Life:
- Develop and implement IP-based solutions to support the delivery of voice, data, and video services.
- Design and implement network architecture and infrastructure for IP-based services, including routing and switching protocols, network security, and Quality of Service (QoS) policies.
- Evaluate, select, and integrate third-party hardware and software components into the IP network infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for the IP network architecture and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, software developers, and project managers, to ensure successful implementation of IP networks.
- Provide technical guidance and support to network engineers and other team members as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends related to IP networking.
To be considered, you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in IP network architecture and design, with a focus on telecom.
- Strong knowledge of IP networking protocols and technologies, including routing (e.g., BGP, OSPF, MPLS, SRV6), network security, and Quality of Service (QoS) policies.
- Experience with network equipment vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, and Huawei.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends related to IP networking.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certifications such as CCIE, JNCIE, or HCIE.
- Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV).
- Experience with cloud-based IP networking solutions such as AWS VPC, Azure Virtual Network, and Google Cloud VPC.
