To translate this mission efficiently into action, we are looking for a talented Regulatory Affairs Associate who will play a crucial role in ensuring our products comply with all relevant regulations and standards. This person will be responsible for basic regulatory pillars that are: Compliance & Innovation support in the country and will work closely with internal stakeholders and minimally interact with external stakeholders to navigate the complex regulatory landscape and support the successful launch of new ice cream products.

Main Purpose of the Job, Accountabilities and Key Tasks:

Coordinates Product Compliance in the Country: Manages product compliance implementation in the country and ensures the execution of local regulations by checking artwork & label information. Contributes to the assessment of regulatory compliance related to sourcing unit changes. Acts as the first point of contact for local regulatory and compliance requirements, supports the implementation of changed/new legislation in relevant products, and contributes to/gives training to the relevant team.

Supports the Regulatory Strategy, Organisation and Guidance for Innovation Projects in a Country: Delivers regulatory input to innovation projects (covering labelling compliance including product claims) which will be combined with input from other functions and reviewed/assessed in the LCF (pre-lock). Contributes to the Regional Asia RA network & BU network to update on country regulatory related matters such as:

  • What is going on in markets/challenges in/out

  • Regulatory summaries on updated country-specific areas (halal, import permit, DVS, etc.)

  • Competitor monitoring

  • Information on country regulatory news

When needed, helps to connect with local regulatory consultants and/or external regulatory experts related to innovation projects and/or country regulation. Works with RA lead to implement the strategy.

Be the RA Contact to Support Specific Topics Needed for the Country: Monitors the external environment in the country & liaises with the regional RA lead. Helps to support the company position in the face of new regulations or amendments in regulations. Supports advocacy efforts on regulation/legislation harmonization through local industry associations & liaises with the regional RA lead.

Profile:

  • Bachelor/Master degree in Science or equivalent degree

  • Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal

  • Experience in local regulations/legislations (ice cream/confectionery, foods)

  • Good attitudes and ability to manage stakeholders professionally

  • Ability to liaise with other functions internally and with authorities externally

  • Basic knowledge of interpretation of country regulations

  • Basic knowledge in advocacy and negotiation skills

  • Attention to detail, well-organised, and logical/systematic thinking
