Job Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire production process, ensuring efficiency, quality, and timely delivery of products. You will play a critical role in managing resources, optimizing production workflows, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. This position requires strong leadership abilities, technical expertise in manufacturing processes, and a commitment to achieving operational excellence.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Production Management:
  2. Develop and implement production strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize efficiency, quality, and productivity.
  3. Plan and schedule production activities, ensuring that resources, equipment, and materials are effectively allocated to meet production targets.
  4. Monitor and evaluate production performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing measures to increase productivity, reduce waste, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain, to ensure seamless production workflows and timely resolution of issues.
  6. Team Leadership:
  7. Provide strong leadership and direction to the production team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  8. Recruit, train, and develop production personnel, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  9. Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews to drive employee engagement and development.
  10. Foster a safe working environment, implementing and enforcing strict safety protocols and practices.
  11. Quality Control:
  12. Establish and maintain quality control standards, ensuring that products meet or exceed customer expectations and industry standards.
  13. Implement quality assurance processes, conducting regular inspections and audits to identify and resolve quality issues.
  14. Collaborate with the quality assurance team to develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality concerns and drive continuous improvement.
  15. Supply Chain Coordination:
  16. Collaborate with the supply chain team to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and components for production.
  17. Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and develop strategies to optimize inventory management and minimize stockouts.
  18. Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to ensure a cost-effective and reliable supply of materials.
  19. Performance Reporting:
  20. Develop and maintain production performance metrics, tracking key indicators such as production output, efficiency, quality, and cost.
  21. Generate regular production reports, analyzing data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and inform decision-making at the management level.
  22. Present production performance updates to senior management, providing insights, recommendations, and action plans.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Proven experience in a production management role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  2. In-depth knowledge of production processes, quality control methodologies, and lean manufacturing principles.
  3. Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve production targets.
  4. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on driving continuous improvement.
  5. Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with proficiency in using production management software and tools.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Education

Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.

Physical requirements/Work Environment

This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities. Some local travel is necessary, so the ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver's license is required.
