We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Private Cloud Platform Engineer to manage and support our private cloud environment, which includes Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) offerings. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, scalability, and performance of the platform while providing technical support for both the cloud services and customers' tenant environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Platform Administration:

  • Monitor, manage, and maintain the IaaS and PaaS platform infrastructure.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of the private cloud environment.
  • Perform regular platform upgrades, patches, and security updates.

Service Optimization:

  • Identify and implement improvements to optimize platform performance and resource utilization.
  • Develop automation scripts for efficient deployment, configuration, and management.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve platform-level issues, ensuring minimal downtime and quick recovery.
  • Work closely with vendors for resolving complex technical challenges.

Customer Tenant Environment Support:

Onboarding and Configuration:

  • Assist customers with onboarding, tenant provisioning, and service configurations.
  • Provide expert guidance on cloud service usage and best practices.
  • Act as a technical escalation point for tenant-specific issues.
  • Collaborate with customers to troubleshoot and resolve tenant environment performance, connectivity, and configuration issues.

Customization and Integration:

  • Support customers in integrating their applications and services into the private cloud platform.
  • Assist with tenant-specific customizations and deployments as needed.

General Support and Collaboration:

Technical Support:

  • Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for the private cloud platform and customer environments.
  • Document resolutions, root cause analyses, and knowledge base articles for recurring issues.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of platform features and updates.
  • Engage with internal teams and customers to gather feedback and recommend improvements.

Training and Knowledge Sharing:

  • Conduct training sessions for internal teams and customers on platform features and tools.
  • Stay updated with emerging cloud technologies and recommend relevant tools and solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Expertise:

  • In-depth knowledge of private cloud platforms (e.g., VMware, OpenStack, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of IaaS and PaaS concepts, architecture, and services.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, containers (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).

Troubleshooting Skills:

  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex platform and tenant issues.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk).

Programming and Scripting:

  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience providing technical support and guidance to diverse users.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Relevant certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift, or Azure/AWS Certified Solutions Architect.

Preferred Experience:

  • 3–5 years of experience managing private cloud platforms and supporting enterprise environments.
  • Hands-on experience in multi-tenant environments and customer onboarding processes.
