Job Description:
  • Work directly under the General Manager to manage the licensing for the department, daily operations of Pharmacy Department and any reporting to the authority body.
  • Supervision of Pharmacy Assistant, which includes preparing their duty roster.
  • Monitoring, checking, and signing of poison orders.
  • Receiving psychotropic drugs from suppliers.
  • Issuing and recording psychotropic drugs to other departments.
  • Ensure proper recording as required by the Poison Act.
  • Monitoring slow-moving and fast-moving drugs and new drugs requested by the Consultants.
  • Determine drug prices for patients.
  • Reporting adverse drug reactions to Biro Pengawalan Farmasekuetikal Kebangsaan.
  • Monitor requisition for the purchase of relevant pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Negotiate prices for items to be purchased with suppliers.
  • Monitor the list of suppliers to ensure the numbers are kept to a minimum.
  • Call for quotations for medical equipment.
  • Compile quotations received and prepare price comparisons for items to be purchased.
  • Prepare proposals and justifications for the purchase of expensive pharmaceutical equipment as well as repair of equipment and building.
  • Counter-check all medications before being dispensed to the patients.
  • Ensure all operations carried out in the Pharmacy Department are in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with Consultants to establish a list of drugs required.
  • Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the pharmacy store.
  • All other jobs and duties within the scope of a pharmacist for the best interest of the company.
  • Develop and implement standards, processes, and procedures for operations within the department such as dispensing, reordering, inventory keeping, monitoring drug movements, etc.
  • Compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other duties/responsibilities as assigned by the Management.
Job Requirement:
  • Bachelor in Pharmacy or equivalent.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in the related field; experience in the healthcare industry is an added advantage.
