Senior Project Manager

We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager and Project Manager candidate with experience on projects in any of the following sectors: Hi-tech and data centres to join our project management team in delivering successful projects to our clients.

We are currently looking for an Assistant Project Manager and Project Manager to join our growing Johor Bahru based team. In this role, you will be supporting the senior project managers on a variety of works for our various clients.

• Be capable of assisting Project Managers and Project Directors.
• Assist the Project Management team in developing project control systems for inclusion in a Project Execution Plan.
• Assist the Project Management team in reporting to the client.
• Draft project programmes as directed by the Line Manager and monitor the project in line with those programmes.
• Monitor project costs in line with the approved budget.
• Manage key project issues as directed by the Line Manager.
• Assist the Project Management team in the management of consultants and contractors.
• Assist the Project Management team in the development and maintenance of risk registers.
• Assist the Project Management team in the delivery of contract administration services, as appropriate to the commission.
• Assist in managing the project's change control process.
• Assist in the preparation of a detailed program for the implementation of the project. Monitor and report on actual performance compared with the plan.
• Liaise with local authorities as required to ensure that the works are authorized as the project progresses.
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.
• Ensure that a system of quality assurance is in place to ensure the production of the highest quality of work in design, construction & administration.
• Attend project meetings as required and write, issue and control minutes of meetings.

• BA degree in engineering or Business administration.
• Appreciation of project management.
• Technical qualification in project management or another technical profession; PMP certified is a plus.
• Strong communication skills in both English and Mandarin are preferred to support collaboration with international stakeholders.
• A minimum of 5 years' technical expertise and experience gained in a construction project of multi-location retail sites, with basic knowledge in technical systems.
• Good technical writing skills and knowledge of reading drawings and tender documents, etc.
• Good client-facing and communication skills, ability to build long-term relationships.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in both spoken and written English.
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Well-organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, self-starting, well-disciplined and commercially astute.
