We are looking for a meticulous Immigration Consultant who will be the primary client-facing professional responsible for end-to-end management of immigration and licensing applications. This role combines legal expertise, client advisory, and case management to ensure successful submissions to relevant ministries.
The Immigration Consultant drives the firm's profitability through expert case management while ensuring regulatory compliance and client trust. This role bridges legal expertise, operational efficiency, and business development.
To ensure success as an Immigration Consultant, you should exhibit diligence, particularly when completing and submitting requisite paperwork. Furthermore, you should have a keen eye for detail and the ability to conduct in-depth research. You should be able to coordinate with different governing bodies on behalf of the client.
Responsibilities:
- Client Advisory & Case Management
- Conduct in-depth consultations to assess client eligibility for Passes, work permits, and licensing applications.
- Provide expert advice on immigration policies, document requirements, and processing timelines.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of complex immigration and licensing applications (e.g., Employment Pass, Dependent Pass, Investor Visa, various licensing).
- Liaise with government agencies to resolve issues, expedite approvals, and handle appeals/rejections.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients throughout the application process.
- Provide regular updates on case statuses and proactively address concerns.
- Upsell additional services (e.g., payroll outsourcing, accounting and individual/ corporate tax services).
- Monitor invoice generation and payment tracking through the case lifecycle.
- Follow up on overdue client payments and resolve billing disputes.
- Reconcile service deliverables with payment milestones and provide revenue forecasts to management.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Review and verify all client documents (e.g., contracts, qualifications, financial records) for accuracy and compliance.
- Draft justifications, appeal letters, and supporting documents for high-stakes cases.
- Maintain a library of template documents (checklists, cover letters, appeals).
- Stay updated on changes to immigration laws and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Supervise Immigration Associates in administrative tasks (document prep, filings, tracking).
- Collaborate with the Clients Director to optimize workflows and ensure service standards.
- Train Associates and junior staff on policies, procedures, documentation standards, client communication and billing procedures.
- Business Development
- Develop customized service proposals for corporate clients.
- Draft and submit Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for corporate immigration tenders.
- Prepare competitive bidding RFPs including pricing strategies.
- Contribute to marketing efforts (e.g., seminars, webinars) to attract new clients.
- Leverage client referrals and professional networks to expand the firm's portfolio.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Legal and other related professions.
- Minimum with 3-5 years immigration and/ or licensing experience.
- Expertise in Malaysia's immigration frameworks (MM2H, Employment Pass, etc.).
- Advanced writing abilities in immigration and licensing advisory, justification letters, appeal letters and RPF documents.
- Proficiency with Immigration portals (MYXpats, eXpats, ePPAx, MyFuturejobs and various licensing portals).
- Billing software (QuickBooks, Xero).
- Independent and proficient in research and fact-checking with relevant authorities and ministries.
- Strict observance of all applicable deadlines.
- Solution-oriented approach to fulfilling duties and advising clients.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations.
- Ability to offer excellent customer service.
