As a senior and experienced Software Engineer at DigitalRoute, you will immediately play an important role in the development of our SaaS offering, a multi-tenant cloud service called Usage Engine Cloud Edition. This product is growing quickly. We are already processing billions of events per month and some very well-known companies are coming on board right now.

You will not just be another person in a sea of people - you will be influencing things like software design, scalability, performance, maintainability and quality.

What you'll do

  • Be part of a collaborative SaaS engineering team that values teamwork and innovation.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services.
  • Develop cloud-native, multi-tenant microservices deployed on AWS EKS, using Node.js, TypeScript, MongoDB, SNS/SQS.
  • Work with event-driven architectures to ensure seamless communication between distributed services.
  • Contribute to system design, architecture discussions, and best practices.
  • Improve reliability, scalability, and maintainability of backend systems.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.

What you'll bring

  • Proven experience as a backend engineer, building scalable distributed systems.
  • Expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and experience with MongoDB or similar NoSQL databases.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS services (EKS, SNS, SQS, Lambda, etc.) and containerized applications.
  • Experience with microservices architecture and event-driven systems.
  • Solid understanding of system design, API development, and performance optimization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach to building software.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills—you enjoy working with others and sharing knowledge.
  • A passion for continuous learning and improving how software is built and delivered.
