Position Overview: National Supply Chain Manager

The National Supply Chain Manager will oversee and optimize the procurement, logistics, inventory management, and distribution of resources across the organization's programs. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing supply chain strategies that ensure the efficient and cost-effective flow of goods, including food supplies, medical resources, clothing, and other essential items for the organization's initiatives.

The role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in supply chain management, logistics, and procurement, capable of managing complex supply networks while ensuring transparency, efficiency, and sustainability. The organization focuses on poverty alleviation, health services, and family support through key programs, including a medical clinic, food bank, feeding programme, shelter home for unwed mothers with unplanned pregnancies, and clothing bank.

To ensure operational efficiency, the National Supply Chain Manager will focus on:

  • Procurement & Vendor Management – Establishing relationships with suppliers and negotiating cost-effective procurement contracts.
  • Logistics & Distribution – Ensuring timely and efficient transportation of resources to different program locations.
  • Inventory Control & Warehousing – Managing storage facilities and tracking stock levels.
  • Sustainability & Cost Efficiency – Reducing waste and optimizing resource utilization.
  • Risk Management & Compliance – Ensuring adherence to regulatory and safety standards.

This role requires a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and results-driven leader who can implement best practices to improve the organization's supply chain operations.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement an effective supply chain strategy that aligns with the organization's mission.
  2. Forecast supply needs based on program demand and anticipated expansion.
  3. Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain to ensure consistent service delivery.
  4. Monitor and improve supply chain processes for efficiency and cost reduction.
  5. Identify, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality and cost-efficiency.
  6. Develop strategic partnerships with suppliers to secure long-term, stable resource pipelines.
  7. Ensure compliance with ethical sourcing and procurement policies.

Logistics & Distribution

  1. Oversee transportation and distribution networks to ensure timely delivery of supplies.
  2. Coordinate with internal teams to manage the movement of goods across different program sites.
  3. Optimize logistics operations to reduce costs and improve reliability.

Inventory Control & Warehousing

  1. Manage warehouse facilities and implement inventory control measures.
  2. Track stock levels, monitor usage trends, and prevent shortages or overstocking.
  3. Ensure proper storage, handling, and distribution of perishable and non-perishable goods.

Sustainability & Cost Efficiency

  1. Identify opportunities to minimize waste and improve resource utilization.
  2. Implement environmentally sustainable practices in procurement, packaging, and logistics.
  3. Develop cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality.

Ensure all supply chain operations comply with safety, health, and regulatory requirements.

Develop contingency plans to handle supply disruptions and emergencies.

Maintain accurate records and documentation for auditing and reporting purposes.

Reporting & Performance Monitoring

  1. Track key supply chain metrics, analyze data, and generate reports for decision-making.
  2. Provide insights and recommendations to improve supply chain performance.
  3. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to enhance operational effectiveness.
