Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Confidential Full-time MYR 180,000 - MYR 240,000 Contract

We are a global financial technology platform serving customers across multiple markets. Our compliance team combines data, technology, and sound judgment to manage financial crime risks in complex, high-volume transaction environments.

Why This Role

The team needs a leader who can raise investigation quality while staying close to the cases that reveal where controls break down. You will establish a clear operating rhythm across transaction monitoring, KYC reviews, quality assurance, coaching, and escalations, while personally owning complex investigations. Your decisions will reduce financial crime exposure, and your frontline insights will shape better rules, workflows, and tools. By the end of your first year, the team should be applying consistent investigation standards, making well-supported decisions, and routinely feeding case findings into control improvements.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead daily team delivery across work allocation, capacity planning, turnaround times, quality reviews, performance feedback, coaching, and complex-case escalation.
  • Investigate high-risk transaction monitoring alerts and KYC cases, connecting customer profiles, transaction patterns, fund flows, source-of-funds information, and relevant risk indicators.
  • Set the standard for investigation decisions and English-language case documentation, reviewing closures and escalations to ensure each decision is evidence-based, defensible, and aligned with policy.
  • Turn recurring case patterns into tested improvements to monitoring scenarios, thresholds, customer risk rules, quality controls, and investigation workflows, working across Compliance, Risk, Product, Data, and Technology.

What You’ll Bring

  • You have led or coached an investigation team, set clear quality expectations, managed performance and escalations, and maintained credibility through hands-on casework.
  • You have owned transaction monitoring investigations end to end, assessed complex fund flows, made defensible closure or escalation decisions, and documented your findings clearly in English.
  • You have conducted substantive KYC, CDD, or EDD reviews, including customer risk assessment and source-of-funds or source-of-wealth analysis.
  • You have converted case findings into improvements to rules, thresholds, procedures, quality controls, workflows, or investigation tools in partnership with other functions.

Bonus

  • Experience in a scaled compliance operation, particularly within fintech, payments, banking, securities, or digital assets.
  • Chinese-language capability. English is the working language for this role, and Chinese is not mandatory.
  • CAMS or another relevant certification, or practical experience with data analysis and AI-enabled investigation tools.
