The Opportunity:

Responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of testing and commissioning activities on a project, including planning, coordinating, executing, and documenting comprehensive tests to ensure systems and equipment function as designed, meet project specifications, and comply with relevant standards, while managing a team of engineers and ensuring timely completion within project deadlines; requiring in-depth technical knowledge, strong leadership skills, and proficiency in commissioning procedures and documentation practices.

How you'll make an impact:

  1. You will develop detailed testing and commissioning plans, including test procedures, schedules, and resource allocation, identify system boundaries and critical test points to ensure thorough validation.
  2. You will coordinate with project stakeholders (design engineers, contractors, client representatives) to align testing activities with the overall project timeline, conduct comprehensive system testing, including functional, performance, safety, and integration tests, analyze test results, identify discrepancies, and troubleshoot issues to resolve problems effectively.
  3. You will ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and project specifications, lead and mentor a team of testing and commissioning engineers, assigning tasks and providing technical guidance.
  4. You will monitor team performance, address technical challenges, and ensure quality standards are met, prepare detailed test reports, including data analysis, observations, and recommendations.
  5. You will document commissioning procedures, test results, and non-compliance issues, maintain comprehensive project documentation and handover packages.
  6. You will communicate effectively with clients, providing updates on testing progress and addressing concerns, participate in client acceptance testing and handover procedures.

Your background:

  1. You hold a bachelor's degree in engineering - Electrical & Electronic or Mechanical Engineering.
  2. More than 5 years of experience in a relevant field.
  3. Thorough understanding of electrical engineering principles, protection testing background, basic SCADA engineering, and basic understanding of IEC61131 PLC logic development.
  4. Ability to understand complex test tools such as Omicron Functional for tele protection test and protection test, expertise in operating and interpreting various testing equipment like multimeter, oscilloscope, data log.
  5. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Familiarity with Microsoft software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), with drawing applications such as AutoCAD, MS Visio, with logic development tools, with testing tools such as ITT or any other 3rd party testing tools & with Protocol Analyzer tool.
  6. Leadership - ability to lead and mentor junior engineers during testing and commissioning.
  7. Problem Solving - character with strong analytical skills to identify root causes of issues and develop effective solutions.
  8. Attention to details - meticulous approach to ensure thorough testing and documentation.
  9. Communications skills - ability to produce excellent written and verbal communication to effectively convey technical information to diverse stakeholders.
