SummaryDetailed Description
  • Provides guidance and support to the commodity team during global negotiations of pricing, terms and conditions and monitoring of supplier performance.
  • Provides guidance and support for worldwide product sourcing process.
  • Maintains responsibility for development and execution of procurement strategies for a group of components or services.
  • Establishes and drives strategic global bidding/initiatives.
  • Maintains responsibility for commodity plans, supplier selection, quotation/contracting and supplier relationship management for high dollar commodities.
  • Facilitates process of making the material commitments.
  • Drives continuous improvements of SCM function through interactions with other departments.
  • Expert knowledge of the marketplace conditions for a broad range of strategic commodities, industry pricing, technology, supply/demand and emerging trends.
  • Excellent understanding of the global business environment and customers' business, organization, products and processes.
  • Ability to lead complex negotiations effectively.
  • Problem-solving skills to deal with Customer/Supplier issues.
  • Ability to evaluate, prioritize and problem-solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
  • Candidates with less experience may also be considered.
Physical Demands
  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
Typical Experience
  • Two to four years relevant experience.
Typical Education
  • Bachelor's degree in related field (Business or Engineering), or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
