As a member of the Finance Regional Team, the Accountant is responsible for handling Legrand entities in Southeast Asia. She/He ensures strict compliance with local legislation regarding statutory reporting and taxation, and also ensures completion of Group Reporting in accordance with Group rules and within defined deadlines.

Role Main Responsibilities

  1. Ensures that statutory accounts and management reports are prepared within the prescribed lead times and in accordance with internal control rules, organizing and recording accounting entries (customers, suppliers, payroll, provisions, fixed assets, etc.)
  2. Ensure monthly report in line with consolidation group reporting.
  3. Manage relationships with local team, auditors, and tax advisors to benefit from the best possible financing terms.
  4. Manage monthly closing timeline with local team.

Role General Activities

  1. Prepares reliable financial statements within the prescribed lead times and in accordance with local law and Group regulations.
  2. Prepares monthly provision computation for account receivable and slow-moving items.
  3. Prepare and verify intercompany reconciliation to ensure that it is entered into the Group Reporting System.
  4. Works with local team for transfer pricing with tax advisor and handles local statutory accounts.
  5. Prepare monthly and yearly Equity reconciliation and Country by Country reporting.
  6. Carries out key checks within the prescribed lead times, such as bank reconciliation and cash position reconciliation.
  7. Manage and prepare monthly closing IFRS 16 for group reporting.
  8. Ensure monthly closing timeline in line with group deadlines.
  9. Manage monthly Journal entries.
  10. Manage internal and external audit activities and tax reporting.
  11. Any other ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

Role Requirements

  1. Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  2. At least 5 years working experience in a related field, with knowledge and experience in Accounting.
  3. Able to communicate effectively with all levels of people in English; Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin is a plus.
  4. In-depth knowledge of accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures.
  5. Self-disciplined, independent, highly organized, and able to work well under pressure.
  6. Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel.
  7. Proficiency in ERP Accounting System; SAP is a plus.
