Job Responsibilities

System Administration:

  1. Monitor server performance and availability.
  2. Performance tuning of database systems, Install, configure, and maintain Linux-based systems and database applications.
  3. Troubleshoot issues and analyze system logs.
  4. Ensuring all hardware and software are updated.
  5. Setting up cybersecurity measures, ensure data security, access control, backup, and recovery procedures.

Database Management:

  1. Configuring servers and databases.
  2. Manage and maintain all production and non-production databases.
  3. Extracting and/or loading data.
  4. Design, test, implement, and maintain databases across multiple platforms.
  5. Preserving data integrity, optimizing database access and allocating/reallocate resources for optimum configuration and performance.
  6. Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data reliability and minimize downtime.
  7. Configure database parameters, responsible for backup and recovery.
  8. Work closely with application developers, technical managers, and business analysts.
  9. Collaborate with team members to build out new systems and services.

Problem Solving:

  1. Fix outstanding issues promptly.
  2. Develop new solutions to enhance system efficiency.
Job Requirements

Required education, skills and experience include:

  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or Engineering, combined with 4+ years' experience in related field.
  2. Relevant Database administration certifications, such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.
  3. A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Linux and database administrator.
  4. Highly proficient with Linux and Unix-based systems, working knowledge of Microsoft OS is a plus.
  5. Proficiency in SQL, including MS SQL, Oracle Database, Hadoop, or PostgreSQL. Working knowledge of T-SQL and PL-SQL is a plus.
  6. Proficiency in Linux command-line tools.
  7. Experience with shell scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Perl, Bash).
  8. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
