Job Responsibilities
- Prepares and dispenses medications to patients with appropriate usage instructions according to the instructions of the prescriber.
- Able to contact the prescriber when in doubt regarding the prescribed medications.
- Supplies drugs to the wards and units according to the required par levels.
- Able to prepare extemporaneous and galenical preparations in accordance to special need of the patients/department.
- Assists in performing quarterly stock checks within the department as well as in the wards.
- Assists the Pharmacist in the department on activities such as TPN Services, patient counselling and periodical stock checks for inventory control and expiry dates.
- Helps to create and maintain a harmonious departmental team and foster good working relationships with all disciplines of staff.
- Able to work overtime as and when required.
- Able to work shift hours as scheduled by the Pharmacist or the Head of Department.
- Undertakes any other duties and responsibilities as delegated by the Pharmacist/ the Head of Department.
- At all times, to maintain strict confidentiality of any information encountered during the course of your duties.
- Enhances professional growth and development through reading of relevant literature, as well as attendance to relevant training programmes (internal & external).
- Assists the Head of Department in planning, monitoring and managing safety and performance improvement activities when needed.
- Performs duties and responsibilities directed by the Superior/Management, from time to time including responsibilities in the Store and ad hoc projects.
Job Requirements
- Diploma in Pharmacy
- Good communication skills both written and verbal.
- Able to prepare extemporaneous preparation.
- Able to communicate in English and Malay.
- Honest with pleasant personality.
- Able to work shift hours.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Reliable, caring with good interpersonal skills.
