In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Lead a team of 6-10 engineers to unleash the value of systems & hardware through development of drivers & software.
- Ensure all business deliverables are met, such as delivering new software features, enabling new hardware, sustaining, and resolving customer escalations.
- Manage projects from conception to delivery by driving project schedules through both direct ownership and delegation to team members.
- Collaborate with other departments (Hardware, Software, Support, Manufacturing) to ensure customer success and pursue opportunity-based projects.
- Interact with technical leaders, managers & product managers to define, direct, and execute on the evolution of software and hardware strategy.
- Mentor, develop, and grow the career of team members.
- Effectively communicate with all product-line stakeholders including upper management.
You demonstrate strong initiative in challenging situations and excel at recognizing and acting on opportunities. You streamline tasks and build efficient workflows. You develop clear plans and allocate resources effectively. Your communication is adaptable, aligning content and style to suit various audiences, and you adjust quickly to changing circumstances.
For This Role, You Will Need:
- B.S. or M.S. in electronics engineering, computer science, or computer engineering.
- 5-7 years of experience as a software engineer, plus 1-2 years of experience managing a team.
- Demonstrated understanding with the following technologies:
- C, C++ and Object-Oriented Programming.
- Programming for hardware & systems.
- Computer software and hardware architecture.
- Agile and waterfall project management tools.
- Scripting languages such as Python.
- Experience in the following areas will be an added advantage:
- Device driver development and Linux.
- Understanding of PC bus interfaces such as PCI, PCIe, SMBus, etc.
- Controller, computer or motherboard development experience.
- Experience in leading the team to deliver to project specs and deadlines.
- Clear and effective communication. Excels at conveying and presenting messages at the appropriate level of detail within a team/function/department.
- Strong sense of ownership. Effective in collaborating beyond department boundaries.
- Skilled in managing people, setting goals, mentoring/growing team members, encouraging a positive work environment, conducting job interviews.
