Tenby Schools Penang, in partnership with the International Schools Partnership (ISP), equips students for local and global success by delivering Amazing Learning. ISP Malaysia comprises of the Tenby Schools, Asia Pacific Schools and Straits International Schools, covering the Klang Valley, Perak, Penang and Johor within Malaysia. School Librarian

Key Responsibilities

Strategic:

- Reviewing the current library collection with a view to updating the collection to support the needs of students as well as the school’s STEAM curriculum.
- Working with students to develop leadership opportunities within the library such as the training of library monitors.
- Creating a long-term plan for the development of the library space and the library collection.
- Working with the academic team to develop policies for the use of educational technology in the library.
- Supporting your own professional development by staying up to date with educational research applicable to school library programmes and innovation in library practice.

Routine:

- Managing the library management system to ensure effective access to library collections and resources by all users.
- Managing the resources allocated to the library in accordance with the school’s library policies.
- Responsible for ordering, receiving, organising, cataloguing, and classifying of all reading materials.
- Dealing with enquiries from parents, staff, and students.
- Coordinating outreach activities to encourage a love of reading.
- Working with the teachers on various learning projects to cultivate the reading habit among students.
- Assisting the academic team in sourcing and acquiring books/reading materials and hereby developing the library and its resources.
- Establishing and publishing clear rules and regulations for the use of the library and its resources.
- Cooperating and networking with other libraries/agencies.
- Keeping the library organized, clean, neat, and welcoming to
