Maintenance Intern

Maintenance is to manufacturing equipment what doctors are to humans - skilled problem solvers who can fix problems that arise while also preventing the issues from occurring in future. We at Protenga are looking for enthusiastic learners with both lateral thinkings to find innovative fixes to problems in the short term and patience and focus on eliminating the recurrence of the issues over a long time.

As the **Maintenance Intern,** you will help to address maintenance challenges related to facilities, utilities and machines. In a fast-paced, lean, technology-focused startup environment, you will work closely with engineering teams internally and with vendors and contractors externally. You will assist us in achieving an operational edge by taking our equipment reliability to the next level; help us make insects Work for our Customers and the Planet

This internship runs for 3-6 months.

**Mission Statement**:
Learn how to achieve best-in-the-world efficiencies in installing, commissioning, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery in the smart insect-farming industry.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assisting in preparing and maintaining preventive maintenance schedules, planning and executing scheduled maintenance activities on key machines and equipment in a fast-paced agri-tech production environment.
- Assist in responding to breakdowns across the site promptly, ensuring minimum disruption to productivity, diagnosing faults, and making recommendations for plant improvement regarding safety and productivity.
- Making sure you gain the most out of your internship experience.

**Requirements**:

- Excellent written and spoken English; you're a confident and concise communicator.
- Able to think on your feet, inquisitive, curious, analytical and intense focus on evidence
- and data-driven reasoning.
- Strong attention to detail, high work standards and proactive can-do attitude.
- High interest in installing and maintaining industrial equipment, mainly mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic subsystems.
- Open to Malaysian students and fresh graduates. Own transportation is required.
- Students from Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Machining and similar fields are preferred (but not required).

**Location**

Currently, all positions are based out of our pilot facility in Senai, Johor, located at the Southern tip of Malaysia, about 30km from the Singapore border.

**Salary**: RM500.00 per month

- Senai: Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (preferred)
