**The Role**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Preparing and operating a range of sound/audio equipment.
- Setting up and breaking down sound/audio equipment.
- Running audio equipment and checking that everything is properly connected.
- Testing audio equipment for volume, tone, and clarity.
- Responsible for the care, repair and maintenance of all audio and sound equipment.
- Operating mixing consoles competently.
- Working to ensure that users are able to use the equipment effectively and are comfortable through the support being provided.
- Recommending equipment and software upgrades when necessary.
- Management and care of all sound/audio equipment.
- To provide appropriate training to other users when necessary.
- Collaborating with other technicians throughout the College.
- Have a working knowledge of common audio and sound equipment and ensure that it is safe to use.
- Responsible for the full inventory of College Audio and Sound equipment.

**Essential Skills and Abilities**
- An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a field related to sound technologies.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in an audio management role.
- Advanced knowledge of sound and recording equipment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Good multi-tasking skills.
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of the functionality of DAWs.
- A strong ear for sound variants.
- A technical aptitude.
- Energy, enthusiasm and a pro-active approach to the job.

**Terms and Conditions**

This is a full time position during term time only and the Audio Technician would be required to work 37.5 hours per week. Flexibility will be required to best meet the needs of the College. Some evenings and weekends will be required. Whilst every effort has been made to explain the main duties and responsibilities of the post, each individual task undertaken may not be identified.
