Primary Job Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Monitor the performance of Offices and Fleet Vetting in accordance with Rightship’s criteria.
- Collaborate with Marine/HSEQ teams to address significant issues, including vessel rejections, Rightship responses, technical holds, results of Rightship/management reviews, and other issues that could have a detrimental impact on the office/fleet.
- Devise strategies to enhance the Rightship ratings for vessels in all offices and improve the DOC score of all offices.
- Propose and drive improvements in SMS, particularly related to DBMS, with the goal of boosting ratings in the standards.
- Recommend improvements to Marine Managers for analyzing Rightship observations and taking corrective actions.
- Conduct Annual Reviews of the Company’s DBMS declarations with Marine Managers to promote initiatives for improvement and best practices.
- Establish and nurture relationships with external vetting organizations on behalf of WSM.
- Participate in, lead, and evaluate incident investigations as assigned by GHSEQ.
- Contribute to and engage in DC Committee assessments as directed by the Manager.
- Assist GHSEQ in various projects and development initiatives, as well as in preparing reports as instructed by the Manager.
- Play a role in the training of newly recruited Marine Managers and Superintendents.
- Key Performance Accountabilities:
The effectiveness of this position will be evaluated based on:
- Advancements in vetting standards and office ratings.
- Improvements in the DOC performance of offices.
- Implementation and adherence to vetting procedures.
- Availability and adaptability to assigned tasks.
- Proactiveness in task development and willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
- Ensuring customer satisfaction, especially through polite interactions, professional appearance, and responsiveness to customer needs.
- Qualifications:
Mandatory Requirements:
- Maritime qualifications, preferably at the Senior Officer level (Master or Chief Officer), along with prior seagoing experience in dry fleet operations.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English.
- Basic computer literacy.
- A strong commitment to environmental concerns.
- Outstanding communication skills.
