**Job Details**

**What you will do**

The Category Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of Contracting sourcing category strategies across APAC regions. He or she is accountable for a comprehensive contracting supply base management to deliver the targeted year over year savings, cash improvement savings, on time job deliveries with high quality and meeting company’s EHS requirements.

**How you will do it**
- Understand the contracting buying scope in detail, e.g. spend, supply base, job categories etc.
- Develop category strategies and align with business stakeholders and country/region buyers by standardizing jobs with rate cards,
- streamlining the process to scout, benchmark and introduce market competitive suppliers,
- establishing a clear strategy and roadmap to build long term business relationships with proven record good suppliers (e.g. PSL), and
- exiting non-qualified or low performance suppliers proactively
- Promote contracting cost estimation methodology across APAC to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of cost management before customer job secure
- Refine the supplier scorecard with SQE to ensure the effective and efficient measurements of contracting suppliers, define and implement a comprehensive process to fully utilize the scorecard to improvement the supply base management
- Develop and implement the best practices, policies and procedures to ensure consistency to implement the category strategies across the region
- Be creative to manage the contracting supply base to drive continuous improvements, e.g. sign long-term agreements to reduce transactional work and obtain optimal quality, service, price, and other commercial terms, VAVE with suppliers to drive cost reduction, new way of working or new technology to improve the cost effectiveness, etc.
- Be the change agent, manage changes proactively, coach country/region buyers to game change the way to manage contracting supply base
- Deliver related targets defined by the company every year, including year over year savings, cash improvement (payment term), supply base optimization, category strategies presented and approved, etc.
- Other duties assigned by line manager

**What we look for**
- Bachelor degree or above, major in Engineering preferred
- 10 years or above sourcing and procurement experiences, preferred in building integrated system, electric industry or engineering construction
- Full experience of engineering projects and subcontracting management
- Experience in market investigation, purchasing strategy establishment and implementation; familiar with cost reduction methods and tools
- Experience in working with APAC multi-cultural teams and multi-functional teams
- Preferable experience in an innovative but also cost-driven environment
- Experience in international trade
- Working knowledge of the legal aspects of procurement and contracting laws
- Demonstrated leadership and change management ability in coordinating different parts of the organization to achieve success
- Should be able to influence resources cross functionally and work in a matrix management hierarchy.
- Fluent in English and Japanese. Chinese speaking is plus
- Excellent negotiation skills, being able to build a compelling case and convince others
- Excellent strategic and logic thinking
- Familiar with contracting management
- Good interpersonal skills to enable and manage strategic relationships internally and externally
- Adaptable towards a rapidly changing environment and able to work under pressure
- Good data processing and excellent presentation skills
- Willing to travel as needed
